Pooja Saharia is a goat beneficiary from village Badiwar of Talbehat block of Lalitpur district in Uttar Pradesh. She is associated with Parmarth since last two years. Due to weak financial conditions both she and her husband were daily wage earners. However now Pooja is taking care of goats only after getting loans for gaots under AI Goat Rearing project and she received loans for purchase of three goats. Now she has eight goat kids from these three goats, and she sold a male goat for Rs. 10,000 that helped her to pay fees for her children’s education. Pooja is also actively engaged in social welfare and education of children. She teaches the school going children of her locality so that their grades are improved. Along with 10 other women she has established community kitchen garden also for having additional income from sale of vegetables. The community nutrition garden has benefitted the women in this tribal locality. Pooja and her husband are thankful to AI and Parmarth for the Goat loans as it has brought a sea change in their lives and in the lives of the people of her locality.
